Waymo, Alphabet's autonomous vehicle subsidiary, will commence human-supervised robotaxi testing in Minneapolis, Tampa, and New Orleans as part of a phased expansion targeting 15 markets by 2026. The company emphasized safety evaluations before full deployment, mirroring its strategy in five additional cities announced earlier this week.

The expansion follows Waymo's established operational footprint in Austin, Phoenix, and San Francisco, where it has completed over 1 million driverless miles.
